What the media failed to tell you was what prompted Mukasey to collapse into a slurring ball of goo: Mukasey was publicly called a TYRANT by none other than a Washington State Supreme Court Judge who was in the audience at the event!
Judge Richard Sanders says he was speaking his conscience when he interrupted Mukasey at a black-tie dinner Thursday night in Washington, D.C., for The Federalist Society, a conservative legal group.
In his speech, Mukasey offered a defense against criticisms about the Bush administration's policies in the war on terrorism.
Judge Sanders said he "passionately" disagrees with those policies and felt compelled to say so. Sanders, who is a Federalist Society member, said that he wasn't heckling Mukasey, and left shortly after his outburst.
"I believe we must speak our conscience in moments that demand it, even if we are but one voice," he said in a statement Tuesday.
I think it is important to consider the implications of this incident, for they are truly serious. A learned Judge on a State Supreme Court has, by his own words, acknowledged that we are living under Tyranny! Think about that. . . . . . tyranny. . . . . here in America!
I have long said it is time to take drastic action to confront our government. I view this Judge's outburst as a green light to now go ahead with drastic action because the Judge confirms what I have been thinking: We are living under tyranny.
It is time for the tree of liberty to be replenished with the blood of tyrants. Within a very few short months, me and a number of others will actually go to carry out that replenishment.
