Washington, DC -- The federal government wants to REQUIRE all vehicles in the nation to be equipped with Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) transponders which will record how many miles you drive, then tax you one-quarter-cent per mile!
The system would record record how many miles a vehicle was driven, whether it was driven on highways or secondary roads, and even whether it was driven during peak traffic periods or off-peak hours.
We would have to pay the tax AT GAS STATIONS each time we get gasoline!
Privacy? You don't have any. Speeding? Your own car will rat-you-out! Use a congested road during "rush hour" instead of a back road? Pay more. This is bull-crap.
